and so the story goes...During the summers growing up in Duluth in the 70s, I attended The Barn Art Camp at McCabe Hall. Run by Benedictine Nuns, “The Barn” was a renaissance experience offering music, art, writing, science and a child’s view of spirituality. Sr. Mary Charles, an artist and compassionate teacher and mentor, made a sacramental card for me; it was unusual in size, hand torn and lovely. To me, it looked like fibrous paper, transclucent watercolor, and a mosaic of stained glass all at once: I was inspired.
Many years (and four little ones later!), I knew I wanted to create art. So, in 1990, I purchased an etching press thinking I could offer etchings and embossings paired with printed copy. I placed my first ad in an issue of MPR’s Minnesota Monthly magazine, landing me my first client. And so began Grace Press Design.
